Hello friends!
And welcome to my weblog.
You're here because for some reason you care to know what i am doing. You're either a friend, a relative, both, or a procrastinating college student. This site will serve as a link with me during my time in India; both while I am studying in Auroville (southeast India) and afterwards. Anyone that wishes may post comments to me through this page, or if it is a more personal message, use my Hampshire college email found in my profile.
Ideally I will be journaling here a few times a week with supplimental photos of interest. Anyone interested in overall issues of Auroville can check out the program I am going with [Living Routes] or the community itself [Auroville].
Briefly, Auroville is an international intentional community. Founded by spiritual practitioners in conjunction with the Indian government about 30 years ago, Auroville has grown into a diverse community with broad focuses including body work and healing, sustainable architecture and community design, spiritual and religious practices, and organic and alternative agriculture.
My purposes for going to Auroville are both academic and personal; I wish to expose myself to the many ancient and deep spiritual traditions of India, and I also wish to learn more about alternative farming methods from the context of sustainable practice and community development.
I am happy for this unique opportunity and happy to share it with all of you. Take good care.
-Justin
