Ok, ok. I don't have much opportunity to post, so I will take the strategy of posting multiple entries at once...I'll give the dates of writing before each.

I have arrived! Safe and sound, I am resting, eating, and working to harmonize with my new and quite magical surroundings. It has been an incredible few days of traveling and I am full of sensations. A combination of euphoria and estrangement might be a good description, but honestly I am feeling more things than I know words for. There is a sadness in me, of leaving things behind: friends and family- a life familiar. I ask for strength to move beyond the old; to turn and fully face the on-coming new.
Our group of 16 seems, at least at this point, a good mix of interests and abilities. I have enjoyed each person I have met and talked with, though this represents only a few. One of us has brought a hand-drum and another has brought a full-size acustic guitar (Yeah!). Many of us seem to have a spiritual practice of some sort, and at least a few have a daily yoga practice.
The college guest house grounds are beautiful, more natural than developed. Everywhere is alive with the sounds of jungle as intermitant rain drops fall from the lush vegetation. I am blessed to be here.

Dear Justin,
It is soothing to my worrying heart to know that you have arrived safely and are well. I can speak for all who know and love you when I say we are glad to hear from you...
Your description of your feelings is not unexpected. You have traveled half-way around the world and are immersed in a new geographical/social/cultural experience. But it sounds as if you have the right attitude. With time, peace and comfort will replace any anxiety.
I am glad to hear that the natural surroundings are conducive to your spiritual well-being. We all hope to see some pictures when you can upload some on the website. Until then, we will all visualize you and your surroundings in our own way.
Stay well and healthy and post when you can. All is well here, except for being cold. Your sister is on her way back to Smith as I write this.
Love,
Dad
