So...this is where I am- India. It's pretty big.
I am beginning to plan my post-semester travels. So follow along with me.
Starting in the state of Tamil Nadu, I will be finishing the program in the mountains of KodiKanal. Then I will be travelling immediately to 7 km away to BodhiZendo, a Zen meditation retreat area. I will be there for 10 days, ending on May 7th. From there, I will travel 3 hours south to Madurai, still in Tamil Nadu, to stay at a social justice ashram for a few days. From there, I will be travelling, most likely by train, west to the state of Kerala. Here, I may see some temples and other sights, and may do an ayurvedic treatment of some sort. This ayurvedic treatment is referred to as panchakarma. From here, my loose plans are to continue up the west coast, passing through some Buddhist pilgrimage sites, up into the state of Karnataka. My eventual destination at this point is Goa, where there are many well-known yoga retreat centers. Here I would like to stay for some time doing yoga retreat. Depending on how long all this takes, I may just travel back to Auroville or I may continue north towards Rajasthan, far in the north-west. Eventually I will make it back to Auroville to spend the remaining time working with Krishna at Solitude; preparing as much as I can to see out my thesis when I return to the states.
So that's the plan, sure to change.
one love, one tribe...

Appears that your recent travels were enriching....enjoyed the photos. And your upcoming plans sound fun..and interesting.
But please don't get married!
Wondering about your adjustment when you return to New England? Will you have some sort of "transition" period?
Stay safe...love you, MOM
Justin,
I agree with Mom that your plan sounds interesting as well as ambitious. I know you will find it worthwhile and a fitting way to conclude your trip. I'm sure the Visa card will come in handy!
Coincidentally, I was talking to one of my residents today (we have several from India) and she is from the state of Kerala. She knows the area where you have been and says it is beautiful.
Any idea when you may be back? We all miss you....
Love,
Dad
Dad,
I think he's coming back July 1st...at least that's what he told me when he called me in March. I might be wrong, though...?
Nikki
Dear brother,
I have begun to tell people that I am Buddhist. I wonder if that changes anything. I don't think it does....
through meditation I program my heart to beat breakbeats and hum baselines in exhalation....
(still resonates in my head)
love,
sister
