~Transitions~

Returning home from the Sacred Jungle, I find myself hitting the ground at speed, touching down in PA for only a week or so. I am off to the next adventure, the next shedding.

This time it is to Insight Meditation Society (www.dharma.org); a meditation retreat center founded on the insight and tranquility practices of the Theravada Buddhist lineage. The center was started by the young and inspired group of Jack Kornfield, Joseph Goldstein, and Sharon Salzburg.

The Retreat Center:

A very beautiful place, I feel blessed to have this opprotunity. I will be offering about 30 hours of service a week, in exchange for full room and board, use of all the facilities, and the ability to participate in any of the ongoing retreats free of charge. Not only am I clearly the winner in this deal, but my service is groundskeeping at the Forest Refuge.

This center is lovely, in year-round silence, available for short to long-term personal retreats. Japanese courtyards and walkways meet New England timber framing. Lovely. And this is where I work every day. Oh, and my morning commute is a 7 minute walk through a mixed-wood forest.

As I find myself the recipient of such lovely gifts, I feel a natural impulse arise to conduct myself at the highest frequency possible for the benefit and support of the thousands of retreatants that come here seeking their highest frequency. I feel this time will ask a lot of me yet give even more in return.
